Finding your basal metabolic rate
Hi all!
Before you can lose weight, there are some things you need to find out. The first and most important is to find a rough estimate of how many calories your body burns in a day. The best way to do this is to find an online calculator which can calculate this for you. Most calculators add 400 calories to their calculations to account for some level of activity. First, I would recommend that you calculate your rate for your current weight, then calculate your BMR for your ideal weight. The caloric level for your ideal weight is where you want your caloric intake to end up. By calculating your BMR+activity for your current weight, you have a place to start. From this number, you can focus on removing 500-1000 calories a day to begin losing weight. After searching google, I actually found a pretty good BMR calculator that includes activity. It’s still a rough estimate, but it works. The website I found is: http://health.drgily.com/basal-metabolic-rate-calculator.php. Just copy and paste or you can google: basal metabolic rate calculators. Let me know if you have any questions. Have a good day and stay cheerful!
