Exercise cont.
So, you hate exercise or you like exercise, but you just can’t keep to a routine. It’s not an unusual problem. People, in general, are very busy. Still, it’s recommended that we exercise 30 minutes a day, five days a week. That’s a lot of time that we could spend doing other things: reading books, working, spending with family or sleeping (I would rather sleep). As I discussed earlier, exercise is important, and there are a few things you could try to make exercise easier. The first is simple but rarely fun. Exercise in the morning before you go to school or work and before you eat breakfast. This gets it out of the way and gives your metabolism a little boost (only for about half an hour). It also energizes you (seems contradictory). Studies have found that by doing this, you are more likely to stick to a routine. When you try to exercise later in the day (i.e. after work, school), you’re usually tired, hungry, busy or a million other things, and exercise is the least of your worries. It’s difficult to focus and so much easier to give in. At first, exercise in the morning will feel like torture (you’re usually stiffer in the morning), but stretch appropriately for about 15-20 minutes (or at least a couple of minutes to avoid injury) and try it out. Quickly, it gets better and you’ll notice a difference. Try it out, and I’ll continue with other tips in a later post.
Thanks! I have to start back again! I was doing so well, then I got sick and it put me in a slump. I will find those 30 minutes.
